activities:
HORSEBACK RIDING
Horse tours through the jungle,
along the river or to the beach.
From one-hour rides to full day
adventures. It is a beautiful way
to experience the wilderness
of nature. Under professional
guidance, no experience needed.
Riding lessons for adults or children
are available as well.
BEACH
Close to Pacha Mama there is a little
fishermen’s village, ‘San Juanillo’,
with some beautiful quiet beaches,
where you can swim, snorkel on the reef, play a game of beach ball or volleyball or just relax in the sand. You can also enjoy the local kitchen of Costa Rica in the nice little “soda". Daily transport to the beach is available.
Ostional Wildlife Reserve
About 5 km from Pacha Mama
you’ll find Playa Ostional, the most
important nesting site of the Olive
Ridley turtle in Latin America. Every
month hundreds of thousands
of females arrive in huge “arribadas”
during several nights, digging
holes in the black sand and
laying their eggs (100–110 per
animal) into each nest. Tours to
this spectacle of nature are
organized by Pacha Mama.
SURFING
Costa Rica’s coastline is ideal for
surfing, famous for its waves all over
the world. Never surfed before? This
is your chance to jump into the water.
With the guidance of experienced
surfers, you can learn to ride the
waves of Ostional, Marbella and
Nosara, the neighboring beaches
of Pacha Mama and make surfing
a meditation.
FOOTBALL
High in the hills is the football field.
Everybody is welcome to discover
again (or for the first time) the joy
of the game, 2-3 times each week.
Pacha Mama’s football club is a
great place to bring you back into
shape, even if your football career
ended 20 years ago.
OCEAN TOURS
The crystal green waters of the
Pacific Ocean are truly inviting. Snorkel
with the sea turtles or meet the
dolphins on their morning swim, in
an exciting boat tour.
HIKING IN NATURE
Take a walk down to the river of
Pacha Mama and enjoy a healthy
mud bath, the silence of the pristine
forest or the company of howler
monkey families. The wildlife is rich
and every day brings the chance to
meet new insects, birds and animals.
Watch in wonder the huge variety
of flora and fauna surrounding you.
Following the river trail will bring you
to different black and white sand
beaches. Climb down the little
creeks over rock formations that
create small waterfalls and pools and
enjoy a refreshing bath.
