Course: Organic Music Workshop
August 5-6, 2008

A musical Journey for the Community.
This workshop is intended for everyone and for every level of musical skill or knowledge.

Carioca will  guide us in a two day exploration of being together through the music.
The workshop will be structured in 4 parts or sessions, each 3 hours long.  There will be two sessions a day.

 2.Life Rhythms
On the second session we will be lead to explore our own individual life rhythms. 

 3. Life Melody
In this sessions Carioca will takes us on a melodic journey. 

 4. Harmony in Group
In this session Carioca will help us to bring all of the elements we have worked with in the past 3 sessions together.

 The workshop will be lead and taught exclusively by Carioca.

Carioca bring's many different forms of Brazilian music together in a unique synthesis. Intricate rhythms combined with rich harmony create the beautiful colors of Brazilian music as interpreted through Carioca's extraordinary musical vision. Carioca is a world class guitarist, vocalist and composer known around the globe for his virtuosity.  He has 15 CD's to his credit.

While we sing, many powerful healing forces are activated: deepening our breath and releasing tension and stress through the beneficial vibrations of sound, harmonizing and revitalizing body and soul, and healing emotional wounds. Singing is like a friend, filling our hearts with joy and bringing us right into the here and now.

A weekend of celebration with films that inspire us, lift our spirit and transform our lives. SPIRITS PachaMama vision is to provide the audience with the opportunity to experience spiritual diversity through films.
Screening films from diversely inspiring backgrounds expands our awareness, increases our capacity to embrace and understand each other and reminds us that we are all ONE.

Course: Mystery of Groove
June 13 - 15, 2008

During this workshop we will explore the world of grooves, opening our listening capacity as well as the groove theory. The aim is to show the complexity of groove including the silence between the notes as part of the whole.

Playing a part of a certain rhythmical pattern will allow you to hear the whole
of the created music. The course is open for beginners as well as advanced
players, who would like to open the horizon of their world of music and its
possibilities.

Course: Vipassana
August 18 - 20, 2008

A Vipassana group is time we give to our SELVES. Allowing the attention to shift
from the world to our nature as pure aware silence.Just sitting and being awareness. Vipassana is never a 'doing'. We just allow the mind to quiet down and let our silent nature surface. When this happens we rest into an awakened silence.

As a device to settle the mind we leave a suggestion for the attention: "Go back to the breathing". Being aware of the rising and falling of the belly with the natural process of breathing. If something else distracts our attention we allow it to be until it is gone and we fall back to the silence which is naturally there underneath it all.
There is no need to 'do' the watching, just connecting to this quality which is already there.The work is the intention and the stillness, all the rest happens by its self.
