Rainy hiberation

The rain has arrived in PachaMama. Strong showers of rain wash the forest, sometimes for hours, sometimes for entire days. After the rain the forest is a translucent green,
the air is so sweet you want to drink it. Nature rejuvenating herself.
The PachaMama community is slowing down almost to a standstill and is gradually turning into a cocoon.
A cocoon that may look passive but inside itself the magical process of transformation
is cooking and steaming, preparing to give birth to a multi-colored, magical butterfly.
The butterfly of PachaMama’s tenth anniversary…

Vision Quest

2010: Vision Quest
Who are we when every distraction, obligation
and comfort have been stripped away?
The Vision Quest began in Native American groups
as a turning point in life taken before puberty to find oneself and one’s direction in life.
When an older child was ready, he or she would go on a personal, spiritual quest alone in the wilderness, often with a period of fasting.
Today the ritual is used outside Native American circles, for adults, as a tool to find new inspiration in life, and to get an intimate look into the heart of one’s very being.

PachaMama will host a Vision Quest in April 2010.

Cacao god

When health tastes good
Cacao is the main ingredient in the Wild Treats raw cacao bar. This ‘food of the gods’ is used in most of the treats, snacks and desserts being served as well as being made into a delicious cold cacao drink every day. Countless of cacao trees have been planted on PachaMama’s land to keep the cacao shots flowing. Cacao is known to have many health benefits apart from tasting good and energizing the body. The whole world loves chocolate but most people will have to settle for a heavily processed, over- sweetened industrial product. The Wild Treats Raw Cacao Bar in PachaMama is a sanctum for original chocolate love.
