River Festival

The River Festival is a musical portal to an altered state of bliss, expansion and togetherness.
A top quality line up of DJ's and bands – like RedBand and Sonambulo – are already tuning their instruments to take the Pachamama tribe on a week-long musical mystical journey.

The festival is taking place on the cozy river bank...
embraced by the pristine forest,
kissed by the sun, the stars and the new moon.
The spirit of the festival is "old school social network style":
eye to eye, heart to heart,
cyber and gadget free.
Non commercial and Earth friendly.

The festival seeds were planted 12 years ago in the millennium, which was the 1st festival of a new born community, Pachamama.
Ever since – like the community itself – the river festival grew, evolved and re-invented itself again and again.
Now, in the significant presence of 2012, the seed will come to flowering, yet again…a gathering of individuals melting into one tribe.

UN ROJO
Popular Latin Reggae Rock music from Costa Rica.
Un Rojo
The band was founded in 2004 by two friends, Jaguarand and Luisk, inspired by the old school sounds of Reggae and Rock. In 2008 Un Rojo went through a total renovation with members leaving & coming, so the total number doubled. The outcome of these changes was a creation of a super group of 11 talented musicians that combine sexy Latin vibe with the one love spirit of Jah Rastafari and elements of Rock, Rhythm & Blues.
A rebelious sound from a group of experienced musicians who have been part of many musical projects in the past including: Race Bronze, Trinity Roots Band, Mentos and Mekatelyu.

ROCK JOURNEY
24-hours with DJ Tyohar and Red Band

Rock JourneyUnder the endless starry sky, this DJ set - although called a "party"- is honoured as a sacred ceremony. It is a privilege to experience such musical jewels in the jungle.
Guided with the medicine and accompanied with prayers, an open heart intention with a fire in the center for mystical warmth. This is a unique ungraspable space where Western psychedelics was born, where masterpieces of music touch timelessness.
Parallel to his electronic psychedelic music collection, DJ Tyohar went back in history and recently developed this one-of-a-kind "24-hour Rock Journey": a voyage into the golden era of the late 60' and the 70's... When the winds of peace & love were blowing, when rock legends walked on the earth.

FOREVER YOUNG
In the 2011 festival Tyohar introduced a heart touching concept in the Rock Journey called, "Forever Young". Needless to say, we did not see it coming and were taken by surprise ...

Rock JourneyAlong the night, the entire story of Janis Joplin was skillfully mixed in: quotes, interviews and rare bootleg live pieces from concerts, inbetween pieces from other artists. Those who have been there were experiencing a glimpse of Janis in a complete and artistic way. This incredible living documentary/art may have been one of her most complete farewell party.

Rarely does Tyohar give any hints about concept of the upcoming set, but when asked about 2012 River Festival, if there will be another "Forever Young" set? He smiled and said, "if you can guess who, you will get a free ticket for the Festival."

And so be it, a free ticket will be drawn between those who guess correctly.
Who will it be this time? Place your guess as a comment (artist's full name) on the Facebook Festival event page.
