How to Get Here

PachaMama is accessible from both San José (SJO) and Liberia (LIR) airports. From San José, you can take a domestic flight to Nosara, drive (approx. 5 hours), or take a bus to Nosara and continue by taxi. From Liberia, it’s a 2.5-hour drive or bus to Santa Cruz, followed by another bus to Nosara. From Nosara, a taxi to PachaMama takes around 40 minutes.

Most international flights to Costa Rica arrive at Juan Santamaría Airport (SJO) in San José.

  • After arriving, staying overnight in San José is recommended to rest before continuing the journey.

The Daniel Oduber International Airport (LIR) in Liberia is about 2.5 hours from PachaMama and serves as an alternative entry point. This airport is a great choice if you prefer to land closer to your destination.

  • Buses to PachaMama operate Monday to Saturday at:
    • 4:00 AM
    • 12:30 PM
    • 4:00 PM
  • On Sundays, a single bus departs at 12:30 PM.
  • Ask the driver to stop at the ‘Cruce de PachaMama.’ From there:
    • The walk to PachaMama takes approximately 30 minutes.
    • Alternatively, rides are often available from passing vehicles.

  • The airport and bus station are only 300 meters (a 5-minute walk) apart.
