Mar Sallés

Mar Sallés

Originally from Spain, Mar first arrived at Pachamama four years ago as a volunteer, never imagining that one day she would call this place home. From the moment she arrived, she fell in love with the community, its values, and its unique way of life. What began as a volunteering experience became a life-changing journey.

Today, Mar is Pachamama’s Volunteer Manager. She supports volunteers throughout their journey and serves as a bridge between them and the different departments within the community. For Mar, caring for the volunteer program is really about caring for people. She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and connected to something bigger.

Having experienced the volunteer journey herself, Mar understands how transformative it can be. She is here to answer questions, guide volunteers through the application process, and do her best to place each person in the department that suits them best. At the same time, she carefully balances each volunteer’s interests with the current needs of the community to create the best possible experience for everyone.

Beyond her role as Volunteer Manager, Mar is a passionate contact dancer who regularly offers contact dance demonstrations and shares her love for movement within the community. She is also a dedicated yoga teacher, guiding Hatha and Ashtanga-inspired classes with presence, warmth, and enthusiasm. Teaching and sharing these practices is one of her greatest passions, and she loves creating spaces where people can connect more deeply with themselves and others.

For Mar, Pachamama is much more than a place—it’s home. She loves helping others discover their own journey of growth, connection, and belonging, and is excited to welcome new volunteers into the community.
