Volunteer Exchange Commitment

The Volunteer program is a way to join the PachaMama community while paying a substantial part of the cost to be here through your Volunteer placement within the community.

People come from all over the world to participate in the program. Areas of opportunity include volunteering in our Eco department, Wild Treats cafe, Recycling center, Verde Restaurant, Jungle shop, Jungle School and more. This is a chance to participate and integrate into the PachaMama experience, learn new skills, and be part of our alternative eco community.

Before you are accepted into the Volunteer Program you must fully complete your online application.

When you are accepted into the Volunteer Exchange program we ask for a deposit of $300, which secures your dates once they are confirmed. You will receive the full deposit back at the end of your stay and you may use this deposit towards workshops or ceremonies only if you have fulfilled your commitment thus far. Any money left over will be transferred back to you on the card in which you paid your deposit once you check out.

A $50 portion of your initial deposit will be held and refunded back only if you leave your casita or your camping spot, your locker in the Volunteer exchange kitchen, and your locker downtown completely trace free. This means that your trash cans in your casita or your own personal trash if you are camping are taken to our recycling center before your departure.

You will have an introduction to recycling day within the first 2 days of your stay with us to ensure you know where and how to properly dispose of your waste. All Volunteer are held to a commitment of 5 hours of volunteering per day for 5 days of the week.

Volunteer Program deposit cancellation policy

If you cancel your participation in the Volunteer Program

More than 60 days before the start

• $100 cancellation fee. The remaining amount  will be refunded to the credit card you used to pay with.
• Dates can be moved within the current season with no penalty *based on availability

Within the 31 – 60 days

• $100 cancellation fee. The remaining amount will be kept as a credit on your account to be used in PachaMama. Valid for 2 years
• Dates can be moved within the current season with no penalty *based on availability

Within 15 – 30 days

• $150 cancellation fee, the remaining amount will be kept as a credit on your account for the future, to be used in PachaMama, valid for 2 years.
• Dates can be moved within the current season with $100 fee based on availability

14 days before the program starts

• There is no refund and no credit given.
• Dates can be moved within the current season with $100 fee based on availability

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: 

Should you choose to cancel or shorten your Volunteer Program commitment with us after you arrive

• There is no refund and no credit of the deposit given if you decide to leave earlier than the agreed commitment. This is inclusive of extensions.

• The discounted prices of workshops, ceremonies, and accommodation may be adjusted to visitor prices if you shorten your stay. 

Volunteer Casita Accommodation  Policy

• Volunteer Casitas are limited and based on set arrival dates. 
• The deposit of $200 is non refundable should you cancel with less than 60 Days. 
• The Casita deposit of $200 can be moved to new dates within the current season with no fee based on availability.
• Casitas must be paid in full 7 days prior to your arrival. 
• Should you decide to leave early or move to camping from your accommodation once you arrive there is no refund or credit.
