Maaike is a certified Hatha and Restorative Yoga teacher. With over a decade of personal practice and trainings in India and Costa Rica, she holds spaces that invite a return to the body—the temple—and the present moment. Through breath, the senses, and awareness to our inner cycles, she supports a more grounded connection to self. She walks the path of yoga with devotion, continually expanding her learning. Deeply connected to nature—her greatest teacher—she draws inspiration from its rhythms, cycles, and wisdom.
Having lived in Costa Rica for many years, Maaike has developed a deep relationship with the cacao plant and the heart opening qualities it offers. Together with her partner Uri, she shares cacao with intention and care for its origins. In circles, chocolate and cacao drinks.
Music has always been an integral part of her journey. As a singer and guitar player, she shares the healing power of the voice and sound, using these as tools for connection—within ourselves, with each other, and with something greater. Whether it is through medicine music, sounding or mantra’s in kirtan… music always brings her back home.
Photography is another way Maaike expresses her creativity and presence. She is especially drawn to capturing women in their natural essence, creating spaces where they can feel seen, safe, and fully themselves. Through her lens, she supports bringing visions to life, translating feeling and authenticity into imagery.
Women’s work is a big part of her journey. She has supported and assisted workshops, part of the Red Temple assistants in Pachamama, and facilitated women’s circles and gatherings. Her passion for the menstrual cycle and feminine wisdom is reflected in her offerings and the spaces she holds.
Her work is guided by authenticity, grounded presence, and deep remembrance. Through her own life experiences, she has cultivated resilience and inner strength, and continues to learn, soften, and evolve. She is devoted to sharing these practices and supporting others on their path.
