n Costa Rica yoga has found a natural place to grow and in PachaMama this ancient practice has come to a flowering. PachaMama’s nourishing field of health practices supports each individual’s journey in yoga. A variety of traditional yoga techniques is being practiced here daily. Yoga merges with healing and transformation, giving it a unique flavour among contemporary yoga in Costa Rica.Yoga in PachaMama is taught by a variety of teachers. Each teacher has their own style, firmly based in the original teachings. Each has a yogic background originating from a different style of Hatha yoga, whether it is the lineage of Iyengar, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois or Satyananda Saraswati. From traditional foundations, a distinctive, non-dogmatic approach to yoga has developed here, inspired by the new generation of Western teachers currently leading the evolution of this ancient science.

PachaMama aims at being a primary location for yoga in Costa Rica by integrating it into the daily schedule. The Movement Arts Studio provides space for personal yoga practices set in the heart of the forest. The lifestyle here supports deep yoga journeys by merging it with physical cleanses, a wholesome diet, raw food and the meditative atmosphere which is the foundation of this community. With the support of other complementary healing processes, a complete experience of yoga is created that optimises its transformative potential.
A variety of yoga retreats and workshops are scheduled throughout the year besides the regular daily yoga classes. During the Transformation Cycle, yoga is combined with cleansing, juicing and detoxification, therapy, self-inquiry and silent retreats. This combination of working with the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies makes it unique among yoga retreats in Costa Rica.

PachaMama creates a meeting point of different schools of therapeutic healing techniques. In some workshops it is fused with Western methods, such as re-birthing breath work. In others, yoga merges with the Eastern traditions of Chinese medicine, Qi-gong and acupuncture.
